Owen Bement’s practice focuses on labor and employment law issues, including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, Family Medical Leave Act violations, wrongful termination, and more. He litigates before state and federal courts. He represents clients in investigations and appeals before administrative agencies. He reviews and advises clients on employment and separation agreements and negotiates contracts for better terms. He assists people from all manner of industries and professions, from truck drivers to business executives, from public safety officers to physicians, from nurses to salespersons. He has also represented labor unions and their members and assisted employers.
Education & Background
Owen earned his Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as the Senior Submissions Editor for the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Baltimore. He has a longstanding commitment to public service. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Homeless Persons Representation Project, an organization providing free legal services to persons with housing instability, veterans, and homeless youth. In his time off, he enjoys cooking, skiing, and spending time with his fiancé.
